Unit Two: Exam Evaluation
For this exam unit 2, I have looked at and researched lots of photographers work. These who influenced my work most are Maurizio Galiuiberti and Etienne-Jules Marey. I also took inspiration from other photographers who can be found on my pinterest board and Mr Nicholls's website page.
The theme I have chosen for this exam was Repetition, I thought this was a good theme because I have been doing some repetition work in Unit One, so it will be interesting to explore the different ways of making images linked to the theme repetition. I'm excited to gain more understanding and experience about this topic. I have been looking to expand my technical skills and deepen my work conceptually. I have chosen Maurizio Galimberti's to research and model my own work on. His is one of the most challenging to make because of the way he creates it with special cameras and with a development process that I can't access. I have to download 'Instant' app on iPhone and take a pictures of each part of the face, hand and body. I have chosen to do this because I thought it'll be more challenging for me and inspirational. I like Galimberti's work. There's a lot to the composition of his work, the viewpoint, camera angle and arrangement of the individual pictures to create a pattern are well thought out and have to be executed precisely. I made my work in Photoshop because it was quicker to build the final image. Sometimes I used a canon camera which is good quality camera, and I use some of the lighting equipment. I have taken screenshots step by step of the work in photoshop to show the method and I have also written down reflections and observations throughout this project.
Conclusion
I think my final image is successful because I had doubts about weather I could make this type of work or not. I now know that I can. Through research, practise and accessing advise from my teacher I have been able to successfully make a final piece that I can be proud of modeled on the work of Maurizio Galimberti, I'm happy with it.
